Normal or Different?   1 Peter 2:9
Several years ago I was helping a missionary on a construction project in Mexico.   A missionary I had never met before came by and worked with us one afternoon.  At the end of the day, I asked my friend, who had spent at least 20 years on the mission field, "This fellow that helped us today, is he really normal?"  My friend looked at me and answered, "You will not find any missionaries who are normal".  The world does not think it is normal for a person, or a family, to spend the productive years of their lives serving God in a strange land and going without the things that they would have at home. Or laying up treasures in Heaven instead of saving for a Retirement.

Do we ever stop and thank God that He has servants that are not normal, or that maybe are different, or even peculiar?

God has something to say about this in His Word. You are a Peculiar People.  Titus 2:14.
Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable Service.  Romans 12:1

Maybe we should ask ourselves, ARE WE NORMAL?
